Hi! This is Luke.

I'm not around, but leave a message and I'll call you right back. Unlike certain droids I could think of...

When Gavin looked up that morning, there was one sun in Tatooine's bright sky. One sun. He'd squinted, rubbed his eyes and even slapped himself but there was one sun.

Something was wrong. The leave Gavin was on hadn't been anything exciting and, really, he'd just been bored. But, he'd been shook awake this morning by people who were now pointing at the sky and looking in awe as a gaping maw of blackness continued to overwhelm the horizon.

This was wrong. Gavin started running for his comm, trying to get someone on the line that could scramble some fighters, send some help but there was nothing but static on the line.

Within moments, Tatooine's suns were gone. The planet was pitched into darkness and now the excitement started to turn to nerves as the blackness seemed to almost turn and head for the moisture farms.

Hoping for some kind of miracle, Gavin tried to send some kind of communication to Luke. The comm crackled but it didn't sound like it was dead.

"Hey, uh, Luke." He sounded nervous and he knew it. He took the comm outside, took it back out and watched this immense black thing coming straight at him. There was nothing to do but watch. "Remember how we always said Tatooine was boring and all? Yeah, well, I think that's about to change."

Closer now. Gavin closed his eyes but kept talking.

"Something's coming, man. Something big. It's taking out the planet and I can't stop it. I can't -- I'm sorry. I wish I could stop it. Tatooine's your home too and I wish -- "

He sighed and kept his eyes closed. He didn't want to see what might happen. "I don't think I'm gonna make it out of this one, man. There's a lot of screaming going on here and I can't save them. You'd save them but I can't. Guess that makes you as good as you think you are."

The blackness was here and Gavin said, "Thanks for the laughs, Luke. You're the be-- "

The words stopped. The line went dead and Tatooine was gone.
